Video-Of-The-Day
The video quality is yikes! The audio isn't in synch with the video, making things worse. Disappointed I am, of course.
Anyhow, enjoy the freak show. J

Deftones Live In KL – February 14th 2011
Been there done that.
We arrived at KL Live at 5 pm. The building is still pretty much under renovations. There’re lots of posters in the elevator & along the path towards the exit of the car park. BUT AMAZINGLY we didn’t grab any of them, assuming that the posters will stay safe there, but we’re wrong. NONE are left after the concert. Talking about over-confidence without brain. ;-)
Only a bunch of die-hard-and-discipline fans waiting outside KL Live at that time. Rain starts falling down and my stomachache is not showing any sign of reliefs. Thanks to the combination of Roti Canai & pints of beer night before that resulted to my stomachache. Awesome eh? :p
6.30pm onwards, the space outside KL Live started to get packed by the fans. Black t-shirt, snowcap and black sneaker bring back the memory of 90’s. Most of the fans are those born in the 80’s and early 90’s.
7.30pm. The numbers of crowd are getting larger but still no sign of the gates are opening. The tense is rising but the organizers did quite well to ease our pressure by ‘releasing’ the black angels & the white cupids. I love the angels but not the cupid. J
The gates are opening only at 8pm++. The crowds are cheering. What makes me proud is that we’re so discipline and so patient while queuing. Now that’s class and professional. J
Our own king of post-hardcore – Love Me Butch, opening the concert, playing most of the tracks on their latest album. The sound is great or should I say, perfect. Salute bro.
After the LMB show, we have to wait; again. It takes a mere of 10 minutes for the technician to set-up the equipments. Then, the ultimate show begins!
All the members of Deftones showed up & without many introductions, they hit the Birthmark. The crowds went insane. Jumping and pushing each other. And Alvin then missing in action. I’ve no idea how he end up at the other side of Rock Zone.
Chino did say: “I see u guys, and I can’t believe what I’m seeing, we promise to come back here again.” Can’t remember what he says exactly, but what I know is that he made promise to come back after realizing there’re many Deftones hardcore in Malaysia. I do hope that they will come again.
p/s : Big thanks to Lisa for allowing me to use all the pictures she captured during the concert for my blog. I can't capture any because I've been busy doing all the crazy horse things on the floor.

New year, new plan - New Studio!
All i want for the new year? A studio. Right, a music studio.
Me and my brother, Roland, is planning to build a small room right next to our house, to build a small music studio. More like a studio-cum-garage.
But first of all, we need enough cash, to buy all the equipments; mainly the amp & equalizer. I think 3 amps are more than enough. 1 with dual functions (for bass & second guitar, 1 for the main guitar, and the other for the vocal / microphone).
At the moment, we have only 2 guitars, or 3 (including Simon's guitar. So we need to buy a bass guitar, and a set of drum.
Searching for the best value of above equipments, if you have any suggestions, do inform me. i.e anyone who wants to sell their bass/drum/amp/equalizer.
Hope for the prosperous year of 2011. Then, a studio will be born.
But, above all that, i must acquire a 'license' from my dad 1st, hehe. :D

Christmas is calling, The year 2011 is calling as well
Christmas is just around the corner, that is also the case for the new year 2011.
Bah, holiday during festive season means no more jamming session since the jamming studio is taking some break as well. Mr Biteet Studio (sorry, forgot his name) will close his studio starting 22nd of December until the earlier January next year, which is not a good news to us since there's no other studio that we can find here in Miri city.
Sound pathetic isn't it? I dunno any other studio in this city, much like i dunno the meaning of lyrics sang by the Devil Wear Prada's vocalist. :D Joke.
Enough of this blabering, got to stop here.
Blessed Christmas and Holy New Year 2011 everyone.
Chow :)

Brief introductions 2.0
Holy In Ashes are a band from Miri, Sarawak (Borneo Island), comprising Simon John (guitar, lead vocal), Alvin Laja Brayon (bass, vocal) and Royston Soon (drum, vocal).
The band was formed in the late November after series of jamming sessions together at the BiTeet Studio in the Tudan/Lutong area.
All band members went to the same college in UITM Sarawak from the year 2004-2007 where each of us groomed our technical side of playing music instruments by participating gigs and battle of the bands in Kuching and Miri with different/other band respectively.
The band's music base is being influenced by various type of music scenes which consists of those from late 80's, 90's and millenium era. Playing cover from the like of Biffy Clyro, Weezer, Deftones, Foo Fighters etc.
Still working on our single, which is mainly composed by Simon John. So, wait for the single which will be available on this site soon.
